Megastructure is more and more becoming the dominant trend in the building design and is becoming a landmark for cities. With this tendency, the engineering of the steel structures which is one of the traditional construction systems is considered as a core technology for the design of the megastructure. Recently, the steel structures have become more lightweight and have higher strength. Also, the development of various connections for a new system can lead to the increase in the application of steel structures.

In our laboratory, research interests include the Buckling Restrained Braces for tall buildings, the New Diagrid Nodes with H-Section Brace, and Fire Engineering. The main recent concern has been the development of PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) connections for improving seismic performance under both theoretical and practical investigation.
